We all know that Usher concerts have put on hold while Usher has been working hard on his next album, which will be a collaborative effort with R&B master Taio Cruz. The pair already teamed up for a dynamite rendition of David Guetta’s anthem “Without You,” but as for the rest of the album, the duo is keeping that top secret.
Usher commented on the single “Without You,” saying, “I think the world wanted a record like that. That [song] really spoke to the journey that I’ve actually been on in the last three years,” he said. “Traveling all around the world, music sounds different. There’s many different genres, and when you see R&B and pop and house, as well as electronic, come together, that’s the reality of what music is.”
In an interview with MTV news, Cruz discussed his creative collaboration with Usher, noting the differences between the two artists and also how their styles complement each other. Cruz pointed out that Usher always “wants there to be the soul in there,” while Cruz himself tends to “get straight to the point and be really clear with the message and be simple.” Cruz explained that they try to find a balance by trying “to match those two worlds together: being soulful and, at the same time, catchy.”
We all look forward to the new album, which is rumored to be released in late spring 2012.
